t

LOUIS F. MANZO, MAYOR

Lou grew up in Collingswood, NJ and has been married to his wife Joanna (Joie) for 29 years.  Lou and Joie are proud of their three daughters. Talia, age 25, is a graduate of Clearview High School and Seton Hall University. Alexis, age 18, is a graduate of Clearview and currently a freshman at Monmouth University. Marissa, age 15 is a sophomore at Clearview High School. The Manzo family moved to Harrison Township in 1999 because of the strong school system and the community’s wonderful reputation. Lou immediately became actively involved in the youth sports programs, coaching in the township’s soccer and basketball organizations.
Lou was elected to his second three-year term on Township Committee in November, 2010. He was chosen as Mayor again for 2011 by his fellow Committeemen for the fourth consecutive year. In addition to serving as Mayor of the township, Lou is a Registered Principal & Director with the MetLife Solutions Group, a specialized office of MetLife.
It is Lou’s belief that our elected community leaders need to create a vision and act decisively in its pursuit.  Most importantly, they should engage our residents in that process as much as possible. When asked why he chose to pursue a seat on Township Committee, Lou replied, "I felt obligated to get involved because I believe I can make a difference in drawing more people into the mix. Clearly, the best ideas for our community emerge when there is more participation."
